Movie and TV Reviews
I think it goes without saying that media plays a rather large part in the lives of most people. And like anything that is man-made, it can be used for good or for evil. Thankfully, there are tools to help protect kids and adults from harmful media. Plugged In and The Dove Foundation are both great sites to help parents navigate the content of movies, TV shows, video games, books, and music. They provide specific information that helps potential viewers to make an informed and godly decision.
Covenant Eyes and X3Watch are internet accountability software that filter and/or record sites visited online in an effort to protect families from accessing porn. The information is compiled into a weekly report that gets sent to a trusted person such as a family member or pastor. We as a family have Covenant Eyes on all our devices, and we recommend that you have either of these as well. It is made for Windows, Mac, OS, iPad, iPod Touch, Android phones, and tablets including Kindle Fire and Kindle Fire HD.
Most devices have some kind of internal internet protection built in to them. Apple devices, for instance, have a system called “Restrictions.” Android calls them “Parental Controls.” Whatever the name or device, we encourage you to do what you can to protect your family.
